About the Lunar Polarity Map

The Lunar Polarity Map combines real Moon-phase calculations with a separate symbolic interpretation layer. The astronomical engine determines the phase angle and illumination for your birth reference and for the current Moon. The map then compares those two points visually.

Eight Moon PhasesNew Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter and Waning Crescent remain visible around the entire cycle.

Yin & Yang PolarityThe current illuminated percentage is used as the symbolic Yang share and the remaining darkness as Yin. This is a reflective convention of this tool, not a scientific causal claim.

Birth vs Current MoonYour birth phase is shown as a stable reference marker, while the current phase is the moving astronomical context. Their angular difference is rounded to the nearest 45° relationship for symbolic interpretation.

How it works

The Astronomy Engine calculates the birth Moon phase and the current Moon phase. The tool then measures their angular separation, identifies whether the current lunar cycle is waxing, waning, at renewal or culmination, and marks the next supporting phase and the opposite tension phase. The completed reading is saved to History and can be shared to Community.

Astronomy and symbolism

Moon phase names, phase angle and illumination are astronomical data. Personal meanings, Yin-Yang polarity language, supporting/tension phases and the interpretation are symbolic self-reflection layers. The tool does not claim that lunar phases medically, psychologically or physically determine personal events.
