About the Five Element Balance Map
This tool uses the traditional Five Phase relationships of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water as a symbolic framework for self-reflection. The outer cycle shows how one phase generates the next; the inner star shows how the phases regulate one another through the controlling cycle.
Birth Element ContextYour birth date is used to establish a solar-year Heavenly Stem element and Yin/Yang polarity. This is one symbolic layer and is not a complete Four Pillars or BaZi chart.
Generating CycleWood → Fire → Earth → Metal → Water → Wood. This cycle represents nourishment and continuation from one phase into the next.
Controlling CycleWood controls Earth, Earth controls Water, Water controls Fire, Fire controls Metal, and Metal controls Wood. This is used as a symbol of regulation and tension.
How it works
The result is not a random element draw. A weighted calculation combines your birth element context, selected focus, question themes and current seasonal phase. The strongest element becomes the Primary Element. The phase that traditionally generates it becomes Supporting, while the phase that traditionally controls it becomes the Element Under Pressure. The completed reading is saved to History, can be shared to Community, and contributes to Weekly Insight.
