How your birth sky and thirteen-card year-ahead reading work together
Birthday Tarot Spread combines a thirteen-card Tarot reading with the planetary sky connected to your birth date. The first six cards reveal central themes of the year ahead, while the final seven cards explore family, friendship, love, well-being, finances, career and expansion. The Birthday Sky panel adds the Sun, Moon, Moon phase and planetary positions so the Tarot spread can be read beside the celestial context of your beginning.
How to begin
Enter your date of birth first. You can also add your birth time, place of birth and timezone for a more specific Birthday Sky. Latitude and longitude are available under Advanced Location Coordinates when you want to enter the location directly.
The Birthday Question is optional. Use it when there is one part of the year ahead you especially want the spread to explore.
Date of Birth
Your birth date is the required foundation of the tool. It is used to build the planetary sky shown above the Tarot spread and to place the reading around the celestial context of your birthday.
Check the date carefully before drawing the cards because the sky information displayed in the reading is based on the birth date you enter.
Time of Birth
Birth time is optional. When you know it, enter the time as accurately as possible. The Birthday Sky panel can then include that exact time in the celestial context.
When no birth time is entered, the tool can use a neutral reference time and clearly identifies that in the Birth Time summary.
Place and Timezone
Place of birth and timezone help place the date and time in the correct local context. Start typing a city or town and choose one of the suggested places. The selected suggestion automatically fills the timezone, latitude and longitude.
The Birthday Sky panel then uses the selected location and timezone alongside the calculated date and time information. You can still change the timezone or coordinates manually when needed.
Advanced Location Coordinates
Latitude and longitude are filled automatically when you choose a Place of Birth suggestion. You can also enter or correct them manually when you know the exact coordinates of the birth location.
Enter both coordinates together or leave both empty. This option is useful when a town name is ambiguous or when you want to specify the location directly.
Your Birthday Question
The optional question lets you place a stronger focus on one issue in the year ahead. You can ask about relationships, career, finances, personal growth, family, change or another area that matters around your birthday cycle.
Leave it open when you want a broader thirteen-card overview.
Your Birthday Sky
After the reading begins, the Birthday Sky panel shows the celestial context used for the spread. It includes the date, time, location, timezone and a set of planetary positions.
Use this panel as a second layer of context beside the Tarot cards, especially when several planets emphasize similar zodiac qualities.
Moon Phase
The Moon Phase card shows the lunar phase connected with the birth sky, together with the illumination percentage when available.
This adds the lunar cycle to the reading and gives another way to understand the emotional and cyclical tone surrounding the birthday sky.
Sun and Moon
The Birthday Sky summary displays the zodiac sign and degree of the Sun and Moon when available. These two positions are especially useful to compare with the strongest Tarot cards in the spread.
The Sun can be read as a central identity and life-direction reference, while the Moon adds emotional rhythm, instinct and inner response.
Planetary Positions
The planetary cards below the sky summary show each planet with its sign and degree. Rather than reading one planet in isolation, look for clusters, repeated signs or planets that seem to echo themes already appearing in the Tarot spread.
The strongest meaning comes from repeated emphasis between the sky and the cards.
The First Six Cards
The first six cards reveal the central themes of your year ahead. Read them as the core of the Birthday Tarot reading before moving into the seven more specific life areas.
Look for repeated suits, Major Arcana and several cards pointing toward the same type of change, opportunity, responsibility or emotional theme.
The Final Seven Cards
Cards seven through thirteen move from the broad yearly pattern into specific areas of life: family, friendship, love, well-being, finances, career and expansion.
These positions help show where the central themes of the first six cards may become most visible in everyday life.
Family
The family position focuses on home relationships, relatives, belonging and the family dynamics likely to matter during the year ahead.
Compare it with the central six cards to see whether family is part of a larger theme already visible elsewhere in the spread.
Friendship
This card explores friendships, social support, community and the people who share your everyday world. It can show connection, change in a social circle, support or the need for clearer boundaries.
Love
The love position focuses on romance, emotional connection, attraction and the development of an important relationship theme during the year.
Read it together with the central yearly cards rather than treating the love card as a separate prediction.
Well-Being
This position explores routines, energy, self-care and the way you are supporting yourself through the birthday year.
It can highlight the value of pacing, balance, recovery, boundaries or more consistent daily care.
Finances
The finances card focuses on money, resources, financial priorities, stability and the practical choices surrounding material security.
Compare this card with career and expansion to see whether financial change is connected with work or a broader opportunity.
Career
This position explores work, responsibility, ambition, professional direction and the goals that may become more important during the year.
Major Arcana here can give the career theme additional weight within the complete spread.
Expansion
Expansion closes the seven life-area positions by showing where your world may broaden through learning, opportunity, travel, confidence, new experience or a larger perspective.
Read it as the area where growth may ask you to move beyond familiar limits.
Upright and reversed cards
Upright cards often show energy that is easier to recognize or express. Reversed cards can show delay, resistance, internalization, imbalance or a theme that needs a different approach.
A reversed card is not automatically negative. Its meaning depends on its position and the pattern created by the other twelve cards.
What to compare
- Compare the strongest of the first six cards with the final seven life areas.
- Notice whether one Tarot suit repeats several times.
- Look for Major Arcana in important life-area positions.
- Compare Sun and Moon themes with the most prominent Tarot cards.
- Notice whether the same zodiac sign appears across several planets.
- Compare finances, career and expansion when the year involves practical change.

How to use the complete birthday reading
First look at the Birthday Sky and all thirteen cards before reading the full interpretation. Notice which suits repeat, where Major Arcana appear and whether the Sun, Moon or other planetary positions seem to reinforce themes already visible in the cards.
Then read the first six cards as the broad pattern of the year and the final seven as the places where that pattern may become most visible. The most useful message usually comes from a theme that repeats across the central cards, one or more life areas and the Birthday Sky.
