Rune Labyrinths: mysterious pathways to weave the manifest world (Expanding Runework)
WALK YOUR WAY TO THE POWER OF RUNES
The geometric aspect of the runes is what strikes us even before we know their sonic nature. These shapes speak instantaneously to our unconscious and it is the spontaneity of these associations that underlies the power of runic labyrinths. Labyrinths, which have always been built on sacred geometry, are able to make us resonate with that particular symmetry and the same is true of more complex forms such as the runes.
Each runic labyrinth follows and amplifies the shape of the rune from which it originates. To walk one of these labyrinth is to approach the rune gently, almost caressing its shape, until one is directly in the presence of its pure geometry.
The rune labyrinth walk is a complete ritual to draw on the rune's powers and tune in to it, to activate its currents within us and manifest them in the outside world. We can think of a runic labyrinth as the series of small waves that form in a lake when we throw a stone. They are the imprint of that object and that force on the surface of the water: similarly, the currents of the runes influence the fabric of reality in a continuous and invisible way.
Drawing a runic labyrinth allows one to focus on the specific influence a rune has on the total fabric in order to follow its development, to be able to navigate change gracefully, to take advantage of it or even cause it, as in the myth of the Norns, the mysterious sisters who weave the destiny of the cosmos.
To get to the heart of this mystery, the book provides an overview of labyrinth walking practice and teaches techniques for drawing and designing geometrically seeded labyrinths of different types, explaining their meaning, before focusing on the 24 runic labyrinths. Various techniques are also offered for integrating labyrinths into one's personal practice, with magical, divinatory and self-transformation applications.
The volume includes a small guide on the magical and initiatory use of each rune.
